College of International Education(CIE) is the centralized department of foreign student enrollment, coordination management and non-academic education and responsible for the propaganda and enrollment of overseas students, signing procedure, operational guidance, etc.

The basic task of CIE is recruiting various types of international students, strengthening the communication of education and culture between schools in different countries, promoting cultural diversity and the standard of internationalized school vigorously, boosting the construction of world-class universities.

Our responsibilities include: publicity of our school, admission of foreign students, passport & visa procedures and management signed operational guidance; the communication and exchange items among international students; approval and management of Chinese Governmental Scholarships (CSC scholarships), Outstanding Foreign Students Scholarship(including HIT scholarships) and all kinds of businesses and individuals scholarships; foreign non-academic Chinese teaching; the communication and promotion of Chinese language and culture; assisting undergraduate school, graduate school, logistics management and other departments; organizing extracurricular activities and providing the necessary life consult. And the central task of CIE is to develop graduate students.

Combined with the national plan ‘Study in China’, College of International Education promoted ‘Study at HIT’: by 2020, HIT will strive to be one of the important destination universities in northeast Asia, and to be one of the main bases for the cultivation of high-level Russian students in China. We established a distinctive international education management work and service system to the international status and scale of HIT. We planned, organized, implemented international Carnival, World Hands in Hands Gala and other foreign students' activities to promote the international atmosphere of the campus, jointly telling Chinese stories and spreading the voice of China. We have cultivated a number of high-level teachers and high-quality courses and formed a complete system of education English teaching courses in China. We make ‘Three Kung Fu’, namely ‘the industry elite and professional academic kung fu, the HIT emotion and Chinese language kung fu, the international vision and cross-cultural communication kung fu’ to promote the construction of ‘Double First-rate’ university. At that time, the number of foreign students studying in the whole year will be up to 3500 (10%), including the number of degree students to reach 2,000.  Meanwhile, the construction of ‘demonstration base for study abroad in China by the Ministry of Education’ (Class I) has highlighted results.
