On the 24th October, 2018 Vice-Present Ren Nanqi met with the Vice-President of University of Arctic, Ms Outii Snelllman at the State Key Laboratory of Urban Water Resource and Environment.
Vice-Present Ren Nanqi and Ms Outii Snellman discussed the feasibility of building up the training center on behalf of Arctic Research Center in HIT and collaborate with UArctic. The two sides conducted in-depth academic exchanges on how to implement scientific research in extreme cold region and Arctic. Vice-Chancellor Ren Nanqi said that HIT is willing to contribute to the development of global polar research, and expand continuously in the field of Arctic research, through the modality of combined talent training, summer school, and collaboration and exchanges in scientific research.
HIT joined the University of Arctic in September 2018, and became a voting member of the University of Arctic. Ms Snellman was invited to participate in the "Strategic Dialogue between HIT and Arctic University" in HIT.
Officials from the Science and Industrial Technology Institute, International Cooperation Department, and the School of Environment attended the meeting.
